At JBA, we often venture outside of our beloved city of Baltimore, with the task to find gorgeous, new items around the country to share with our team back home. Last week, our librarian, Wendy Ward, and our Park School Summer Intern, Stephanie Davidson, didn’t have to travel too far this trip. Tuesday morning, they took the Marc train from Penn Station in Baltimore to Penn Station in D.C. for a visit to the Washington Design Center. After a rain-free stroll, admiring the architecture and sheer number of food trucks on the D.C. streets, they hit up the WDC with a few in-depth showroom tours in mind instead of the hit-and-run strategy involving every. single. one. There’s always next time!

On the list were J.Lambeth/Fabricut and Kravet, Lee Jofa, and Brunschwig & Fils showrooms on the second floor; the expansive Holly Hunt showroom on both the second and third floors, along with Michael-Cleary and Quadrille on the third; and lastly, Hines & Co. on the forth—with a lunch break to recharge in between.

{J. Lambeth’s Fabricut and Vervain fabrics are always great to see}

{Included in J. Lambeth’s showroom were Lucy Rose fabrics, Ferrick Mason Textiles, and amazing George Smith handmade furniture}

{Kravet’s beautifully-curated showroom displays this luxe grey room and features amazing new products}

{One of Kravet’s smaller areas features beautiful marble flooring mirroring Brunschwig & Fils classic plaid pattern.}

{Holly Hunt’s entire showroom was as fabulous as this room, which displays a perfectly-placed teal daybed in the center of an otherwise neutral (but equally gorgeous) scheme.}

{Leather fabric displayed on back wall, organized perfectly}

{More beautiful accessories in the Holly Hunt showroom}

{When is a white sofa the most interesting piece in an space? When it’s a Vladamir Kagan Serpentine, darling. Shown here on Holly Hunt’s first floor.}

{Phillip Jeffries’ watercolor-esque wall covering display is a must-see in the Holly Hunt showroom}

{The Michael Cleary showroom is small but mighty, featuring a wall of the coolest outdoor fabrics by Link}

{The Hines showroom displays an abundance of vendors and products in an exquisitely-organized fashion–these adorable alcoves made it super fun to spend a whole hour just browsing!  Showroom bonus: chatting with the talented Myra Hines and showroom manager extraordinaire Kitty de Zwart.}

We love to visit our D.C. neighbor in our thriving metro-area! Stay tuned for where JBA visits next.

XOXO, JBA
